West Sangihe Archipelago struck with 7.1SR with locations of 5.49 degrees North Latitude and 125.14 degrees East Longitude with a depth of 48 Kilometers. From BMKG analysis the occurrence of this earthquake won’t cause tsunami in Indonesia territory.
From BMKG monitoring about one hour, there are 4 subsequent earthquakes with smaller magnitude. Based on earthquake parameters, this event is caused by the subduction activity of the plate. This earthquake is caused by a broken plate that is at a depth of 48 kilometers.
