In response to the tectonic earthquake that occurred in the province of East Nusa Tenggara, then we submit the following statement:
Had an earthquake Friday, January 7, 2017, at 16:11:59 pm with the power of 5.7 M Depth 77 km.
Earthquake centered on land 48 Km Northwest of East Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara. Earthquakes are relatively small so it is not strong enough to evoke changes in the seafloor that could trigger a tsunami.
From the results of the monitoring BMKG for one hour, there has been no aftershocks were recorded. BMKG continue to monitor the progress of aftershocks and the results will be communicated to the public through the media.
