BMKG Report - In response to the tectonic earthquake that occurred in North Sumatra, then we present the following statement:
An occured on Friday earthquake, January 6, 2017, at 17:24:59 pm with the power of 5.4 Mw with depth of 60 km.
Earthquake centered in the sea, 46 Km East-SUMUT NIAS, although earthquakes centered in the sea, powers are not strong enough to evoke changes in the seafloor that could trigger a tsunami.
From the results of the monitoring BMKG for an hour, aftershock earthquake also occurred as much as one with the power of M 4.6. BMKG continue to monitor the progress of aftershocks and the results will be communicated to the public through the media.
