The activities undertaken in Kampung Sawah keruh, Kelung Bakung, Kecamatan Teluk Betung Barat, Lampung City, on July 18-20, 2017 are intended to increase community knowledge and understanding of disaster risks in their region and the health impacts of the disaster.
Based on IRBI (Banda Aceh Disaster Risk) Kota Lampung is at high risk for flood disaster, and is one of the 170 Crisis Center target program targets for mentoring, capacity building of health resources in the prevention of health crisis due to disaster.
No less than 150 people attended the meeting.
The meeting was opened by Mr. Frans Mula Putra, member of the House of Representatives Commission IX. In his speech he conveyed that people can increase awareness of preventing floods by doing simple things for example by not littering, which can inhibit the flow of water, besides that the accumulated garbage can become the source of the disease.
Mr. Kamaruzzaman from Health Crisis Center in his presentation conveyed the disaster in Bandar Lampung City, as well as efforts to be done by the community. Especially for Kampung Singkuh, which every year floods, Mr. Zaman who is also Head of Evaluation and Information convey what people should do before, during and after the flood to reduce the health impact caused by the flood.
