Mount Egon volcanic activity , located in Sikka regency, East Nusa Tenggara province has raised. Volcanic activity continued to increase since Tuesday, January 12, 2016. Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation Center(PVMBG) raised Mount Egon status of on Alert (level II) into Standby (level III). This status increase is valid from Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at 06.00 pm.

PVMBG give a recommendation to expand the radius of vulnerability, which had a radius of 1.5 km to 3 km, so that people who live in the village of Egon Gahar must be evacuated because of potentially exposed to hot clouds, dense volcanic ash and incandescent rocks burst in case of eruption.

The impact of the rising status of Mount Egon, as many as 1,840 inhabitants of the village had to be evacuated in Egon Gahar Natitara District Office and the Natacolle Rural Office.

Risk reduction and health crisis efforts carried out by the Sikka District Health Office which include alerting health centers to provide health services, to prepare healthcare logistics such as medicines, complementary feeding (MP ASI) and masks.

There also a coordination which done by Sikka Local Disaster Agency, and the Health Crisis Center from Ministry of Health to bring any healthcare logistics.
