The ASEAN Committee on Disaster Management (ACDM) 2016

Indonesia was appointed as host of "The ASEAN Committee on Disaster Management (ACDM)" meeting in 2016. This meeting is an important moment to strengthen and increase the role and cooperation of ASEAN countries in disaster relief efforts in Southeast Asia.

The meeting was held in Semarang, Central Java province, at Gumaya Hotel on April 26 to 29, 2016.

The countries who participated were ASEAN countries (Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and the Philippines), AHA Center, and donors participants country, which on of it is Australia. From Indonesia there were some representatives of National Disaster Agency (BPBD) (as well as an organizer), Ministry of Health, Ministry of Social Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, Ministry for FMD and TNI.

The meeting agenda in four days include: Meeting with ACDM, Meeting with Leader of AHA Centre, Unit work meeting to promote synergies with relevant agencies in the region, disaster management, coordination of EAS and ACDM Session, field visits and AADMER Cooperation Conference.

The meeting was attended by:

A senior official from ASEAN countries, which are; Brunei Darussalam (3), Cambodia (2), Laos (5), Malaysia (2), Myanmar (2), the Philippines (2), Singapore (2), Thailand (3) Vietnam ( 6 people) and Indonesia (27)
