The Health Crisis Center held Health Management Crisis Management Assistance Februari, 13-17th 2017 in Sigi District

In mitigating disaster risk, there are priorities to be put forward and the formulation of these priorities is undertaken to build a strong foundation in implementing disaster risk reduction efforts and accommodate international and regional agreements in order to bring about a concerted joint effort.

The Health Crisis Center as the coordinator of the health cluster has undertaken disaster risk reduction efforts in the health sector since 2015 and will continue until 2019 in accordance with the strategic plan of the Health Crisis Center on 34 Districts / Municipal Disaster Risk. This activity is a series of activities ranging from the assessment of regional capacities in the implementation of crisis management management, assistance in the preparation of response maps and maps of regional capacity, assistance in the preparation of health contingency plans, table top exercises, and rehearsal.

In the framework of disaster risk reduction in the health sector, it is necessary to identify how capacities, vulnerabilities and potential disasters in disaster-affected districts / municipalities, especially in districts / municipalities that are targeted by 34 districts / cities that prone to disasters in 2015 - 2019 .

Assessment activities in 2017 is a series of disaster reduction activities in the third year which is a continuation of activities in 2015 and 2016.

The purpose of assessment activities conducted by the Health Crisis Center in 34 districts / cities, are:

  •          To know the capacity of public health office in implementing health crisis management management
  •          Knowing the obstacles faced by the Health Office in the effort to overcome the health crisis caused by the disaster
  •          Provide recommendations related to efforts to improve the capacity of public health office in the handling of health crises.
