The last few days of rain flushed some parts of West Nusa Tenggara such as Mataram City, parts of West Lombok and Central Lombok, but in other areas such as Bima, Kota Bima, Dompu, eastern Sumbawa and parts of East Lombok rainfall has started to decrease. Indication of the dry season began to enter the region of West Nusa Tenggara.
The arrival of the dry season in East Nusa Tenggara normally ranges from the eastern region like Bima, and will continue to spread to the west until the end of the dry season is the area of Mataram and part of West Lombok. This is because the dry season is marked by the active east monsoon. This wind will carry the air mass through the dry and cold desert in Australia to the West Nusa Tenggara region, and this wind is blowing from east to west, so that the eastern region of West Nusa Tenggara will first feel the coming of drought. Based on data on average rainfall for 30 years (1981-2010), the normal dry season in West Nusa Tenggara is the earliest beginning on the third dasarian of March from Bima area and most recently in May I dasarian in Mataram and part of Lombok Barat (Gunungsari , Batulayar, Kediri, Narmada, Gerung, Labuapi). While the length of the dry season in West Nusa Tenggara normally ranges from 15 to 24 dasarian (about 5 to 8 months).
