Heavy rain that flushed Cianjur and unstable soil structure caused the movement of soil so that water fill the cracks and cause landslide, in Waringinsari Village, Takokak Sub-district, Cianjur District, West Java Province on Sunday October 1, 2017 at 5.30 pm.
138 houses were heavily damaged, 103 houses were damaged, 139 houses were slightly damaged, and other 420 houses were threatened with landslides. 800 households (2,400 people) were affected. Public facilities of the residents were also affected in this incident, 3 units of moderately damaged school, 14 units of lightly damaged mosque, 18 units of moderately damaged mosque, 3 irrigation severely damaged, 1 unit of clean water facility belonging to Ponpes Riyadul Muthadin heavily damaged, 5 points of buried road and 1 road break.
1,300 people displaced because their their house were damaged and worried about aftershocks. Refugees are scattered at several points such as the village hall, madrasah, nearby neighbors and at the homes of their relatives. Cianjur Government has determined the status of emergency response of landslide disaster on 1 – 7 October 2017.
